Camp Kenwood® for Boys & Camp Evergreen® for Girls
Brother-Sister Summer Camps in NH offering 4 and 7 week sessions
Nestled on a picturesque, private lake surrounded by 200 acres of lush fields and forest in Wilmot, New Hampshire, brother/sister Camp Kenwood and Camp Evergreen provide the perfect setting for learning, growth, and fun! Our activities – like team sports, visual and performing arts, rock climbing, and waterskiing – help our campers develop passions and skills for life.
While both Camp Kenwood for Boys and Camp Evergreen for Girls are tailored to the individualized needs of each and every one of their campers, that is only a small part of our story. What really sets our summer camp apart is how we use something called an intentional community to help guide our campers to discover their best selves, so that they can become the person they’ve always dreamt they could be.
What’s an intentional community? It may not be a term you’re familiar with, but we suspect you know a thing or two about building a supportive environment for kids. We utilize every element of our community to provide the most developmentally impactful experience for your child. Every tradition, every ceremony, every activity is seen as an opportunity to build your child up, and to strengthen and deepen the learning that occurs here at Camp. You know it starts with one key ingredient: love. As parents, it’s your love for your children that turns your house into a home, and at Kenwood and Evergreen, it’s our love for our work and for each and every child that transforms our campus into a community.
We see ourselves as an extension of the at-home support provided by our partner families. And while the skills we hone – and the ways we do so – are a bit different than what’s learned at home, Kenwood and Evergreen’s community is a great complement to the life lessons our parents pass along to their children. We’re very intentional about creating opportunities for our campers to practice certain competencies, which we call life skills. Whether they realize it or not, we help every camper to develop great confidence and independence while they are at camp. Because every camper is an essential member of our camp community, and they can’t but feel the love and support around them, we are consistently told that our campers discover the best version of themselves.
We are as committed to children and their growth as any institution or program out there, and our community is the primary way we support our campers in this goal. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to create such a community if we didn’t have a blast every day at camp!

Our Mission To understand where we’re going, it’s nice to know where we’re coming from. For us, that means having a clearly defined Mission, which informs everything we do at Kenwood and Evergreen. We remain devoted to these outcomes from the first time we raise the flag in June, to our final afternoon in August, and every moment in between. Our intentional community, guided by our directors and supported by our staff, is committed to providing a transformative summer experience, where campers develop and strengthen communication, collaboration, leadership, creativity, and critical thinking skills. These are the skills our kids need most as they grow.
At Kenwood and Evergreen, we have the spirit of a traditional camp – with a focus on activities, adventures, and fun – to teach in ways that encourage deeper learning. Our intentional community, guided by our directors and supported by our staff, is designed to create a transformative summer experience for every child.
Campers develop and strengthen effective communication skills, collaboration, positive leadership, creativity, and critical thinking skills through engaging and fun traditional camp activities and creative programs, while living in a caring and supportive community that nurtures social and emotional learning. We help to prepare our campers to be tomorrow’s global citizens and caring leaders.
At Kenwood and Evergreen our incredible staff use as many of the million moments of the summer as possible to build and strengthen this mindset in our campers. Come learn more about how Kenwood and Evergreen is redefining summer enrichment!
Here at Kenwood and Evergreen, we’re only as good as our staff, which is why we hire people who never forget that they’re in the role model business. To help ready them for the summer, we run our counselors through training sessions in the springtime, where they learn Kenwood and Evergreen’s mission, and how they’ll live it while they’re at camp.
This begins with appreciating that what makes camp so much fun can also serve a deeper purpose. Our staff understands that the collective volume of camp – all its songs, chants, cheers, and laughter – is also loud enough to drown out a child’s inner critic. By tuning out that inner voice, the one that says what’s impossible, campers are able to turn on the best versions of themselves: the one that’s kind, daring, and open to the many possibilities for growth that camp offers. But being a positive role model is just one piece of our staff’s job. Each day they use the best practices of deeper learning to teach the skills that your children will need to be successful in life. This involves taking the time to break down complex tasks and ideas into simpler components, showing step-by-step how children can solve a problem while explaining the reason for each step they encourage questioning, elaboration and reflection. They engage campers in challenging tasks and support them with guidance, feedback and encouragement. They motivate your children by connecting learning to their personal lives and celebrate the knowledge and skills they are developing each and every day.
These practices of deeper learning make the learning that occurs at Camp “sticky”, or what researchers call “transferable”. This means that the critical thinking and problem solving skills that your child will use on the ropes course will actually carry over to challenges that they face in school and in the rest of their lives. This is the essence of deeper learning. Learn more about your supportive, creative and engaging team here!
Why Choose A Brother-Sister Camp? Each camp has its own style and traditions, which helps us strike the perfect balance between the unique camaraderie of a single-sex camp and the richness of life in a quality co-ed community. Our brother and sister camps create a community of physical and emotional safety. Camp becomes a place where they feel safe to flex their newfound independence, work with their peers, and learn how to self-motivate themselves (with a little help from our counselors, of course!) through a variety of daily pursuits. Co-ed activities like dining and weekend events foster strong age-appropriate friendships. Your child will see their self-confidence and social skills blossom each day as they challenge themselves by exploring new activities and creating new, and lasting, friendships.
