KENWOOD Traditions

At Kenwood, traditions aren’t decorations on the summer. They’re the heartbeat of it.

Every boy learns the camp songs, competes in Color War, and ends the season at the candlelight ceremony by the lake.

These moments connect generations of campers and staff who have shared the same experiences for nearly a century.

Camp has one award, the Shield of Honor. It goes to the camper who best represents Kenwood’s values: brotherhood and integrity.

This isn’t about running the fastest or having the loudest voice. Not at all.

It’s awarded to the person others count on, the one who knows what it means to lift people up when things get tough.

Boys learn through tradition. And these traditions remind everyone that true strength shows in how you treat others and that being a great teammate or friend matters more than any trophy ever could.
