TRAVEL TO CAMP
Camp opens Saturday, June 27th. Please let us know via the Transportation and Luggage Form how your child and their luggage will be traveling to Camp. This is an important form to fill out ASAP as we plan for bus capacities, staffing and airport pickups! Thank you.
DEPARTING FROM CONNECTICUTWhen: Saturday, June 27th at approximately 11:00am Where: Staples High School 70 North Avenue, Westport, CT 06880 Check in time: please arrive between 10:45am and 11am Parents are asked to park in the parking lot located to the left of the High School: The buses will be pulling into the circular driveway of Staples High School, located between the school and the flagpole: TRAVEL TO CAMP BY PLANEIf your child is traveling to Camp by plan please be in direct contact with the Camp Office no later than May 1st to confirm your child’s travel plans (in addition to completing our Travel Form). Please make sure that you consult with Jason in the Camp Office before booking any flights. This summer we have children traveling to Camp from many different states and countries, and it is crucial that we know the complete travel itinerary of each child. If your child is traveling by plane please remember that luggage should not be checked, but should be shipped by separate carrier, as discussed in last week’s Camp 101 email. TRAVEL TO CAMP BY CARA Special Note…. We strongly recommend that new campers come up on the bus rather than by car. The Camp experience really begins on the bus ride up – new friendships are often formed by the end of that bus ride. Goodbyes are also easier at the bus. If you are considering bringing your child to camp by car, it is very important that you get in touch with the Camp Office to let us know as soon as possible (in addition to completing our Travel Form) Please plan to arrive between 3 – 3:30pm and to make your departure as speedy as possible. TRAVEL HOME FROM CAMPCamp Closes Saturday, August 15th. Please let us know via the Transportation Form how your child will be retuning home from Camp at the end of the summer. If this changes, please contact us as soon as possible. Please do not rely upon email alone, as it is not 100% reliable. In addition, we cannot rely upon second hand reports of travel changes from your children during the summer, nor can we remember travel arrangements from last year without being reminded (we’re good, but not that good!). We thank you for your assistance in our travel planning. TRAVEL HOME BY BUS
