Seeing so many camp friends at our brother-sister summer camp reunion in CT

There’s nothing better than hanging out with your camp friends, especially at an amazing summer camp reunion. This weekend we had our annual Tri-State area reunion at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT. As you can see, friends of all ages were just so happy to see each other. Our campers and counselors traveled from MA, RI, MD, CT, FL, VA, PA, NY, and NJ, and would do just about anything to see each other during the non-summer months.

One of the things that I so love about our brother-sister summer camp community is how easy it is to make friends with people your own age, along with those younger and older. Part of the K&E experience is having role models and mentors in your counselors, but also in older campers like those in our Big Brother & Big Sister program.

Then we had a great dinner together. Because it’s Kenwood and Evergreen everything was peanut free and tree nut free, and there were gluten free and dairy free options available!

After that we showed our Summer 2015 Camp Video Yearbook. It’s about 40 minutes of highlights from this past summer, including events like our Color War, annual music festival Hollowpallooza, 4th of July Spectacular, and scene after scene of our campers and counselors having the summer of their lives!

And then it was time to do what we do best at our overnight camp — play, play, play! At this camp reunion we had an enormous gymnastics room with bouncy floors, tumbling apparatuses, and even a rope swing with a foam pit. There were batting cages, a rock climbing wall, and a room filled floor-to-ceiling with trampolines. We also had groups of kids and counselors playing basketball, and a flag football game on a turf field (officiated, of course, by Athletic Director Bob Mitchell). It was so much fun, and so much fun to be with our camp friends.

And as quickly as it began it was suddenly over. After 1,000’s of hugs and some long goodbyes we all headed out. There were sleepovers throughout the NY, CT and NJ area, and far too many pictures to publish here. Sadly, this is our brother-sister overnight camp’s final reunion until we all get back together for Opening Day in June. We are very excited for the series of parties we are hosting for our new campers coming up in May. For more information about them please visit our official K&E summer camp event calendars.

As the reunion concluded Deena did find this pair of boots. If they belong to you please let us know and we’ll mail them back to you…though not before we ask you how did you leave a party without your footwear? Didn’t you notice you were barefoot?!?!
