Our Summer Camp’s 8th Annual Camper Film Festival
August 13, 2015
As we announced in early March, this evening was our overnight camp in NH’s 8th annual Camper Film Festival. Throughout the last 7 weeks of this summer campers as young as 8 have been working with Hannah and Kaitlin, our two fantastic film making instructors, making all sorts of different types and styles of movies.
At tonight’s film festival our community gathered in our theater to watch the best of what they had made. Everyone got into the spirit of the event. Our Junior Counselors made enough hot popcorn for 200 people. Ceramics Andy and Salvador from Cooking handmade chocolate Oscar statues and wrapped them in gold foil for the winners in each category. Some kids and counselors even dressed up in their finest camp outfits. I’m thinking that next year we’ll have an actual red carpet.
This was a really wonderful special event. It’s so great that our community can come together on a night like this to celebrate the artistic vision and hard work of our campers. They wrote the scripts, auditioned the actors, created storyboards, edited and even wrote original soundtracks. We are so proud of them and hope that you enjoy them all! Over the course of the next few weeks I’ll make sure to put them all up on the Official Camps Kenwood and Evergreen Youtube Channel.
