As former campers at Kenwood and Evergreen, you know that the end of summer doesn’t signal the end of the relationships you made. We want Camp to be a place you can return to over and over again, whether it be by attending an alumni event, bringing your children to Camp to grow and learn just like you did, or by visiting the friends you made during your time here.
We also love getting together at events that support the Kenwood and Evergreen community. Recently dozens of alumni, campers, counselors and camp parents spent a beautiful day golfing to support the Mickey’s Kids charity. Mickey’s Kids helps provide scholarships to economically disadvantaged children and helps make summers at Kenwood and Evergreen a reality for them.
For Alumni, You Can Always Return
This year, just one week after the summer season ended we welcomed just over 150 Alumni and their families back to Camp. Folks came back who had last been campers in the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s, 00′s, and we even had some recent Hut 6 & Juniper graduates! It was an amazing opportunity to spending time together, sharing stories, and just enjoying each other’s company.
Who says having fun is just for kids? Our alumni spent the weekend reliving their childhood days, playing sports, skiing on the lake, participating in Gold Rush, and hanging out with their Camp friends.
On Saturday night Alumni Coordinator Liz Mettler-Coyle (mom of Oliver and Caroline) even ran an Apache Relay and Rope Burning. A great time was had by all and connections were re-made, friendship rekindled and adventure remembered!
We made this brief video to show you the fun and great times we had during this amazing weekend!
